In addition to performing all the female voices on A Prairie Home Companion, Sue Scott can be seen performing on celebrated theater stages in the Twin Cities and throughout the Midwest.

The History Theatre

The History Theatre creates and produces plays about Minnesota, the Midwest and the diverse American experience. The Saint Paul-based theater is recognized as one of the nation’s foremost producer of new plays that tell true stories about real people. Plays, such as Axel & His Dog, featuring Sue Scott as "Nurse Carmen," and Sisters of Swing, highlighting the lives and music of the Andrews Sisters, have been received with critical acclaim and have been popular with Twin Cities theater audiences.

“Sue is one of those actors who will do everything necessary to make things work. She’s my best critic. I’ll take her into my rehearsals to look at my directing and she’ll take notes. She’s always honest, sometimes painfully so, but she’s got a great eye for theater.”
-Ron Peluso, Artistic Director of the History Theatre

A Prairie Home Companion

A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor is a nationally known radio show heard weekly by over four million listeners on over 558 public radio stations.

A Prairie Home Companion’s official Web site is THE place to learn more about the show. There you can listen to audio excerpts of archived performances, view photos of the cast performing at venues like the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, and shop the Prairie Home Companion Catalog for all sorts of books, CDs, and other memorabilia.

Sue Scott’s many character voices are featured on the new CD, Sue Scott, Seriously Silly. A vocal talent without compare, at any moment Sue can be garrulous, sassy, sinful, prim and proper, worldly and wise. This CD collects the best of Sue Scott so far, as if such a thing were possible. Here's Sue as Mom calling her beleaguered son Duane. As Ruth Harrison, Reference Librarian, with her black belt in biblio-kwon-do. As devastatingly beautiful supermodel Cynthia Maxwell. As private eye Guy Noir's faithful ex-girlfriend, Sugar. As an NPR correspondent. A waitress named Vi. A blonde. A bird. Berniece. Radio Starlet Lulu Lane, and more. Here's Sue Scott in 14 sketches, bits and send-ups heard over the years on live broadcasts of A Prairie Home Companion. All seriously silly.

Sue Scott, Seriously Silly, is published by HighBridge Audio and available at Pretty Good Goods, Public Radio's official online catalog offering the "biggest selection of A Prairie Home Companion goods available anywhere."

“[Sue Scott’s] numerous individual characterizations are splendidly distinct, usually hilarious, and often quite moving. Here is a [character actor] in marvelous command of her craft.”
